good evening everyone, in the last few days, the trip to work has become somewhat problematic. ie, no matter what i try, im misting up!

my rear view mirror was misted, i could not see my speedo, as all that was misted up, my side windows were misted, and parts of the windscreen.

this is with full heaters, on recirc, with AC on, and aux on full heat, and and the heated screen on too.

never used to do this?

First, turn off recirc!

If its 5deg or less outside your'e snookered with cc as it won't work.

Make a habit of turning off the a/c several minutes before parking up to give a chance for the a/c evaporator to dry out.

It the 'Time of Year'.

Moisture seems to be a real pain with the low sun after a shower & with temp below 5 the AC can't help.

I'm going to check the pollen filter as not been changed for a while, it may be a little damp.

I printed off your excellent pictures last year Seatkid for filter removal.

Try "Rain X" (the black bottle for the inside), it works

lol. well, the "computer" if you can call it that, was reading 9C, so i set it to, full heat, AC on, NO recirc, Heated windscreen on, Aux heater OFF. had no moisture at all. and was warm - yay!

thanks everyone :P

There is another way that does not involve using the aircon. This might be useful as, once you use the aircon, moisture builds up in the unit that you need to dissapate.

Try runing on econ setting but asking the unit to direct air to the screen and footwell. That usually does the trick and, if things start to mist up, direct air to the screen only but limit the booster fan to the setting you want.

Before climate control and aircon, some of us had to set the airflow direction, fan speed and temperature manually.

i haven't got CC, just boring manual dials

CC is something i will look for on my next car, along with cruise control.

I had this on my previous car, Mondeo, it turned out the excessive moisture was from the footwell in the rear passenger compartment, I'm sure that you've checked for damp carpets etc, but it does sound unusual for that much moisture build up, as mine never even needs a blast onto the windscreen for demisting.

is it possible for the wires in the screen to have reduced performance over time? ie, there not as hot as they should be?

i have not yet bothered to check for wet floors, but will do tomorrow.
